Our client is a small, expanding freight forwarder who have an exciting new role immediately available for an experienced air export professional to join the expanding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for US Export traffic and therefore required to work the later hours of 13.00 - 21.00/Mon-Fri, this will be a rare hybrid position.
Must have previous air export freight forwarding knowledge, operations and Customs experience. Must have a driving licence/own transport and be able to easily commute to Bagshot, Surrey. Exceptional English communication and customer service skills are required. Desirable to have experience with the US Export Market.
Employment Terms for the US Export Clerk- Salary: £40-45k
- Location: Bagshot, Surrey (Hybrid)
- Hours: 13.00-21.00 hrs (UK Time) Mon-Fri
- Holiday: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Liaising with US shippers to understand shipment ready dates
- Arranging collections with the US hauliers
- Following up with hauliers that the collections have been made via phone and web portal
- Liaising with US warehouses to ensure freight is received
- Communicating with the warehouse to request shipment on hand details when needed
- Making bookings with the airlines in the US
- Arranging AES filing for export
- Raising export documentation
- Following up with the airlines to check the cargo has departed
- Quoting of export shipments from the US
- Billing shipments as per quotes or customer rates
- Export freight forwarding airfreight, Customs & quotes experience
- Experience of CargoWise preferred
- On job training will be offered for the candidate to be able to handle US Exports and do the job fully
- The candidate should be able to work on their own and as part of a remote and local team
- Excellent English communication skills both verbal & written
- Must be able to operate on their own initiative
