Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer with excellent PLC programming skills to join a Leeds based specialist engineering business on a staff basis. The role will suit an experienced person who has broad experience, can lead small projects, and help out with lesser experienced members of the team.
Key aspects of the Electrical Controls Engineer role include:
- Design and specification for electrical controls systems
- Knowledge & understanding of Siemens TIA Portal desirable; experience of other PLC manufacturers will be considered
- Proven experience in PLC Programming - Ladder, high level programming such as SCL
- Experience in WinCC and HMI designs
- Functional Safety and Safety Programming experience; SIL knowledge is nice to have
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings is essential
- CAD experience would be advantageous
- Knowledge of Electrical controls legislation (Regs, LV Directive) is essential
Site work will be mainly UK based with some international travel expected, roughly 1-2 months per year split over various trips. The role is office based when not working on site; the company is located in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
Working week is 37 hours per week: Mon-Thurs 8.30am - 4.30pm, Fri 8.30am - 4.00pm (Flex Fri pm scheme). The company’s office is easily accessible from places such as Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Halifax, Harrogate, Wetherby, Selby, Dewsbury, Brighouse, Ilkley, Otley, York, and Knaresborough.
