At the Heart of England Co-operative Funerals, we are a small, independent, regional business operating through 16 funeral homes in Coventry, Warwickshire, South Leicestershire, and Northamptonshire serving our client families to the very highest standards with our committed team of experienced professionals.
We are looking for a Funeral Service Operative who will provide an exceptional level of care when bringing the deceased into our care and whilst out on the day of the funeral. These colleagues need to have superb driving skills to transport our client families in comfort and safety in our ceremonial Hearses and Limousines. The role will require you to work effectively as part of a team, as well as being able to work on your own initiative and sometimes under pressure. We need a person who is caring as well as empathetic to the needs of our clients and our colleagues. Attention to detail is a prerequisite.
This role is based at our care centre in Foleshill, Coventry and we would prefer our applicants to be within a 5 mile radius. Working a core of 39 hours per week between our locations, there will also be additional hours working evening and weekends when participating in our 'On call' rota outside of normal office hours. The successful candidate will ideally have some experience in the Funeral Industry however this is not a requirement as full training will be provided once in post.
You will be responsible for:
- Being an ambassador for the business at all times
- Dignified and respectful care of the deceased
- Bringing the deceased into our care
- Driving and bearing on funerals, to exacting standards
- Delivering the highest standards of client care
Core skills requirements:
- Being committed to delivering excellent client service to the highest standards
- Excellent communication skills
- Well presented with a professional demeanour
- A full UK driving licence
- A minimum of 5 year's driving experience
- Physically fit and able to participate in bearing duties
- A flexible and dependable approach to work
- Basic IT skills in relation to computer systems
