Our client is a leading heavy industry manufacturer and due to their continued success, Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Engineering Supervisor. The successful applicant will lead a small team of maintenance engineers at our client's busy manufacturing plant near Stafford.

The Role:

  • Provide 'hands-on' maintenance supervision for a small team of maintenance engineers.
  • Ensure the planned preventative maintenance schedule is implemented and effectively allocate resources to reactive maintenance needs.
  • Supervise a team of engineers to ensure the effective delivery of planned and reactive maintenance in a busy heavy industry plant.
  • Hands-on training and supervision of engineers.
  • Update maintenance schedule / PPM and produce accurate hand-over sheets for incoming maintenance teams.
  • Work on motors, inverters, contactors, sensors, relays, switch gear, plc fault find and repair (Siemens).
  • Mechanical maintenance and repair of machinery including furnaces, foundry plant, conveyors, overhead cranes, heat treatment, cooling plant and more.
  • Manage contractors, ordering spare/replacement parts.
  • Manage work schedule, rotas, HSE talks, motivate staff.
  • Project work.

Candidates:

The successful candidate will be an experienced multi-skilled maintenance engineer with supervisory experience. Applicants ideally will have previous experience in heavy industry manufacturing e.g. steel, aggregates, mining etc. and you will have at least 3 years supervisory or manager experience. Ideally you will have excellent 3-phase electrical installation, fault find and repair skills.

Hours of work:

  • 12 Hour days Monday to Thursday
  • 12 Hour nights Tuesday to Friday
  • Rotating every month

  • Excellent basic salary £48K + OT
  • 28 days annual leave (pro rata)
