MINISO UK is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Retail Design and Project Management to lead and oversee the design and execution of all retail store projects across the UK. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that the retail environment is consistently aligned with the brand's image and values, optimising store layouts, and managing multiple design and construction projects from concept to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail design, project management, and team leadership, with a proven ability to execute large-scale projects within budget and on schedule.
- Develop and implement innovative store concepts and design strategies that align with MINISO's global brand image while meeting local market needs and enhancing the customer experience.
- Lead all aspects of store fit-outs, renovations, and relocations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Build, mentor, and work closely with design professionals, project managers, and contractors, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
- Work closely with the marketing, merchandising, and operations teams to ensure designs align with MINISO's retail strategy and operational requirements.
- Manage relationships with internal and external vendors, architects, contractors, and other partners, negotiating contracts, coordinating project timelines, and overseeing quality control.
- Develop and manage budgets for all retail design and fit-out projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions and value engineering where necessary.
- Ensure that all design and construction documentation is complete, accurate, and adheres to regulatory requirements, incorporating sustainable practices and designs where appropriate.
- Evaluate the performance of completed stores to ensure that they meet the brand’s standards and customer expectations. Provide post-project feedback and continuously improve processes.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Project Management, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in retail design, project management, or a similar role, preferably in the retail or commercial sector.
- Proven experience managing large-scale retail design projects, from concept to completion, with a focus on store fit-outs and renovations.
- Strong understanding of retail trends, space planning, customer experience, and how design impacts retail.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams, senior management, external vendors, and contractors.
- High attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality retail environments.
- Knowledge of construction processes, budgets, and schedules.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and innovatively.
- Leadership capabilities with a proven track record of managing and developing teams.
- A results-driven individual with a strong focus on execution and achieving business objectives.
