We are currently recruiting for an experienced and ambitious Building Surveyor to join a leading Facilities Management company on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to focus primarily on the project management of local authority capital works, overseeing projects from inception to completion.
Role Overview: As a Building Surveyor in this role, you will manage a portfolio of local authority capital works projects, ensuring their successful delivery. From managing the design and procurement stages to overseeing construction and final handover, you will be responsible for the end-to-end project management process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the project management of local authority capital works, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Provide expert building surveying advice, including site inspections, condition surveys, and defect analysis.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and tender documents.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including planning, building codes, and health & safety.
- Manage project teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Monitor and report on project progress, highlighting any risks and challenges.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
About You:
- You will ideally be working towards Chartership (RICS or equivalent) or already a chartered professional.
- Proven experience in building surveying, ideally within the public sector or local authority capital works.
- Strong project management skills, with a solid understanding of building construction and surveying practices.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills, able to build relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- A proactive and solution-driven approach to overcoming challenges and delivering successful projects.
