Role Description: The Tenable Nessus SME is responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of Tenable Nessus vulnerability scanners within an on-premises environment. They will need to ensure proper deployment and integration of Nessus sensors across the environment to effectively identify and assess security vulnerabilities. Key activities include deploying scanners, working with client security teams, configuring scan policies, managing asset discovery, enabling reports and implementing remediation activities. This role requires a strong understanding of Tenable Nessus and its various components.
Key Skills:
- Strong understanding of Tenable Nessus architecture and its various components.
- Experience with Tenable Nessus installing, configuring and administering Nessus in an on-premises environment.
- Knowledge of network security and vulnerability management principles.
- Ability to understand, define and implement scan policies, schedules and procedures in line with client security.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and troubleshooting skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Tenable Nessus certification.
- Experience with other security tools.
- Familiarity with security framework and compliance standards (CIS Benchmarks).
- Ability to document tests and build activities in a consistent and coherent way.
