Our client, who deliver a comprehensive selection of products and practical solutions in the landscaping, ground maintenance, fleet management, agriculture and farming, across the UK and Ireland, are seeking a Technical Support & Training Manager in the Operations division. The role will be based in Cambridgeshire, with some travel to customer sites.

You will lead and co-ordinate the product support activities of all Divisions in the UK, whilst enhancing focus on customer aftermarket support. The job purpose is to enhance and to continue to develop the dealer network and service providers to optimum standards in supporting the needs of the end user customers. To develop initiatives and strategies for the delivery of high standards of customer support and services in line with SLA document and commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver technical product support and training support for our client’s network of dealers, service centres and end user customers.
  • Focus on the enhancement of systems and methods of all UK dealers and service providers to reach and maintain certain standards set and monitored by the distributor.
  • Work across all UK divisions to create and monitor a dealer standard and performance indicator that covers all business distribution.
  • Management responsibility to oversee the warranty, field-based service teams and technical support training, coordinating workloads according to demand and resource available.
  • Liaising with OEM’s that import to our client on all technical product issues and developments and departing such information as is necessary to internal and external sales teams, field service team and workshops.
  • Adhere to all policy and procedures and agreed business strategies, ensuring all company policy & procedures are followed (SLA, Warranty Policy, Health and Safety policy etc.).
  • Responsible for warranty and registration, warranty training to dealers and internal staff.
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the warranty system including updates and future developments within the system.
  • Work with dealers and service centres on warranty queries and technical claims.
  • Work with the Parts Department to provide details of spare parts requirement for service bulletins.
  • Support and organise training events with the support of the Technical Training Specialist and Technical Product Specialist and on-line learning tools.
  • Develop and evolve training department for both end users and internally.
  • Responsibility for service marketing campaigns liaising with the Marketing Manager and PR agency.
  • Responsible for liaison with OEM’s and their nominated insurance companies on all reported product related accidents or oil spillage.
  • Represent our client at the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA) meetings.
  • Responsible for product integrity and current legislation requirements.
  • Attend training events related to technical support, ensuring ongoing training throughout our client in UK and the dealer network on a continual basis.
  • Liaise with the Operations Manager to prepare action plans and monitor departmental budgets for your areas of responsibility.
  • Monitor fixed and variable costs and related budgets for your area of responsibility.
