We are seeking a Senior Associate Project Director with expertise in aviation or large-scale infrastructure projects to join our client's team based in Blackfriars, London. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead and manage complex aviation projects in the UK and the Middle East, overseeing all RIBA stages from concept to completion. The role involves strategic project leadership, technical oversight, and client management, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality design solutions across multidisciplinary teams. This position offers a leadership role with significant responsibility and a supportive, flexible working environment.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the technical, regulatory, and strategic aspects of aviation sector projects. You will be responsible for managing project teams, liaising closely with clients and external stakeholders, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. In addition to your technical expertise, you will provide strategic direction to ensure the achievement of project objectives and business goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage aviation projects through all RIBA Plan of Work stages (0-7), ensuring technical accuracy, design excellence, and successful project delivery.
- Oversee and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and consultants, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
- Act as the main point of contact for project work packages, providing strategic direction, leadership, and clear guidance.
- Manage the preparation and submission of project documentation, including planning and building control applications.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements, legal standards, and client objectives, addressing any issues or challenges that arise.
- Oversee internal design reviews, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, coordinated outputs and that the project meets client expectations.
- Manage project resources and budgets, maintaining an audit trail for key decisions and effective risk management.
- Contribute to business development efforts, supporting the preparation of bids, tenders, and marketing initiatives, and establishing new client relationships.
- Extensive experience in delivering aviation or large-scale infrastructure projects, with a proven track record of managing projects from start to finish.
- Strong understanding of UK construction methods, building regulations, and industry best practices, particularly within the aviation sector.
- Excellent leadership skills, with experience managing and motivating multidisciplinary teams and fostering effective collaboration.
- Proficiency in Revit and other relevant software is essential.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
- Experience in managing project budgets, schedules, and resources.
- ARB/RIBA/CIAT registration or equivalent professional accreditation is required.
