Salary: £31,923 per annum plus Veolia benefits and pension

Hours: 48 hours per week, Monday to Friday (5.30am - 4pm)

Location: Birmingham, B11 2RH

What you’ll be doing:

  • Operate all mobile and fixed plant for which you are trained and authorised, to operate safely and competently to the required standards.
  • Monitor the weighbridge, weighing vehicles in and out.
  • Housekeeping - ensuring the site is always in a reasonably clean and tidy condition at all times.
  • Undertake the mechanical transfer of waste for onward transportation, as directed by the Site Supervisor.
  • Maximise vehicle weights within compliance with legal and company requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with site permit/odour management plan.
  • Routine maintenance and cleaning of plant and equipment, including daily checks and reporting defects to the site management.
  • Complete machine hours, defect sheets and other related paperwork to the required standards.
  • Compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Compliance with all Veolia policies and procedures.

What we’re looking for:

  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Loading shovel experience is desirable.
  • Experience within a similar role is desirable.
