Mechanical Estimating Manager The company is looking for a Mechanical Estimating Manager who can quickly get up to speed with the team and is eager to move up to an estimating or pre-construction manager role as the company continues to expand. What you’ll be doing: You’ll be working on projects across the commercial, healthcare, education, and pharmaceutical sectors, with values ranging between £0.5m and £5m. In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating detailed, fully costed, and accurate estimates based on surveys, requests for quotations, or tenders. You’ll need to deliver these estimates on time for internal review, ensuring we meet our customer deadlines. Understanding industry standards is key, as you’ll be designing and pricing jobs with precision. You’ll also be on the lookout for new opportunities with both new and existing customers, helping to drive our business forward while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring top-notch service. How you’ll be doing it: Your day-to-day will involve conducting site surveys, interpreting plans and tender documents to produce accurate estimates, and working closely with the senior team on sales strategies and lead generation. Staying up to date with industry standards is crucial, and you’ll also be supporting the Operations Team with live jobs and projects. When needed, you’ll collaborate with the Operations and Sales teams to handle project-related client inquiries, ensuring our customers are happy every step of the way. Your goal will be to price and estimate projects so they’re completed on time, within budget, and at the agreed profit level. Plus, you’ll review tender documents, offering advice on bid prospects and potential solutions, making sure our tenders are consistent and well thought out. As part of the sales team, you’ll build relationships with both new and existing clients. You’ll also attend operational meetings and provide detailed updates on what’s happening.
