Are you passionate about making a difference to people experiencing cancer? Merrifield Consultants are delighted to be partnering with the Mulberry Centre, an award-winning, independent cancer support charity to find a Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser; someone to work alongside the Head of Fundraising and Engagement to secure vital funding, enabling long-term growth and broaden the charity’s impact within the community.
The Mulberry Centre helps improve the lives of anyone affected by cancer, including those with a diagnosis, carers, family members and bereaved relatives, by enhancing emotional, psychological and physical well-being.
About the role: In this role, you’ll work alongside the Head of Fundraising and Engagement to develop and implement fundraising strategies, focusing on securing new funding from trusts and foundations. You’ll write compelling proposals that secure support and cultivate relationships with funders to ensure long-term engagement. Your efforts will directly contribute to the charity’s mission of providing life-changing support to those affected by cancer.
About you: With income now exceeding £750,000 and growing fast, the charity is set to expand even further and they need an experienced fundraiser to help secure the vital funding that will enable this growth. You will need effective and flexible written communication skills and be able to produce written documents that are inspiring, concise and informative. Strong oral communications skills, with demonstrated ability to influence, persuade and network with a wide range of stakeholders at different levels of seniority are also important, as is an understanding of current grant-making, corporate and individual donor trends. If you’re a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, can juggle multiple priorities, and is eager to make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the charity at a pivotal time, as they celebrate their 25th anniversary in 2026 and prepare for a series of high-profile fundraising initiatives. With the launch of a new Ambulatory Diagnostic Centre at West Middlesex University Hospital, they’re ready to enhance their collaboration with local NHS services and broaden their impact within the community so it really is a chance to be part of something truly special.
