Join our dynamic team for a 5 month fixed-term contract as a 2nd/3rd Line Applications Support Analyst and play a pivotal role in supporting our systems and applications. This second-line position involves handling technical and complex calls escalated from the helpdesk. As the first point of contact within the Applications Support team, you’ll provide expert technical support for critical IT applications used by the Council. Our team is expanding with large new projects and digital initiatives like AI and the Innovation Hub, offering a chance to make a significant impact during an exciting period of growth and change.

In this role, your day can vary from simple root-cause analysis to tackling more complex technical issues. You’ll manage support call queues, resolving incidents and service requests while offering technical advice to users and colleagues. You’ll ensure our applications run smoothly, maintaining technical manuals and support documents.

During your typical day, you might work as a resource for project teams, helping them gather information and perform software updates, ensuring seamless handovers and adhering to change management procedures. You’ll be servicing a vast variety of departments, including Adult Social Care, Children’s Services, Education, Housing, and Regulatory Services, making each day unique and exciting. Your efforts will directly contribute to enhancing service quality and customer satisfaction.
