GT Engine Services, an STS Aviation Group Company, is hiring a Stores Inspector at our Stansted, Essex facility. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and rapidly growing Part 145 Aircraft Engine MRO. Role Overview: As a Stores Inspector, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced aviation stores department, ensuring all materials and tools are received, inspected, and distributed efficiently. You will ensure compliance with Part 145 regulations while supporting engineers and logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the daily running of the Stores department
- Issue tooling, consumables, and rotable aircraft parts to engineers
- Process import and export customs paperwork for aviation parts (training provided if required)
- Communicate with customers and suppliers as needed
- Raise repair orders for aviation components
- Receive and inspect a wide range of aircraft parts in accordance with company procedures and Part 145 regulations
- Ensure correct handling and storage conditions for all aviation materials
- Arrange dispatch of items via appropriate carriers, ensuring compliance with dangerous goods transport regulations
- Conduct inventory control, monitoring shelf-life items and tools due for calibration
- Oversee waste disposal in line with company and environmental regulations
- Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant work environment
- Identify operational improvements to enhance productivity and cost efficiency
- Deliver high-quality service to internal and external customers
- Operate company vehicles when required
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by the management team
Required Skills & Experience:
- Computer literate (training provided for company systems)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Minimum six months of experience in the past two years holding company approval for goods inwards inspection in an aviation stores environment
- Previous experience in a busy aviation stores department is essential
- Knowledge of goods inwards processes and inspections in an aviation stores setting
- Experience with Quantum or ProMRO software is desirable
- Forklift licence is an advantage (training provided if needed)
- Full, clean UK driving licence
