We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our successful English department in a high-achieving academy in Hammersmith. This is a full-time permanent position commencing in April 2025.

About the Role:

  • Teach English Language and English Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources including drama, debates, creative writing workshops, and technology to bring English to life for students.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our English curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
  • Foster a love of English in students, encouraging them to develop their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in English education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
