On behalf of a highly successful and privately owned main contractor, we are recruiting for an Estimator to join an established team at their HQ in Cambridgeshire. The company prices construction work from £500k to £20m across a range of procurement routes which include single and two stage tenders. The primary purpose is to produce competitive and innovative tenders, proposing the right costs to the highest quality and accuracy. To be successful at this, you will need to draw on your construction knowledge and consider alternative solutions and value engineering.
Duties will include:
- Accurate interpretation of drawings and technical specifications
- Undertaking Take Offs
- Pricing a diverse range of trades and project types
- Sub-contract tender analysis
- Development of Client and Consultant relations
- Review the status of tenders and department workload with Senior Management Team
Experience and personal qualities required:
- The ability to communicate confidently with external and internal teams
- Have a proven background in successfully delivering a wide range of tenders
- Have experience of various construction methods
- Be able to present plans clearly and accurately
- Experience of value engineering and finding practical solutions to overcome barriers
- IT literate in Excel and estimating software (e.g. Conquest or similar)
Qualifications:
- By experience or HNC in Building studies or similar
