We are looking for a Short Term Trading Intern to join our Energy Markets team. We are E.ON and we’re leading the energy transition, providing smart, sustainable and personalised solutions for customers at home, in business and across entire towns and cities. We make sure everything we do is focused on our customers, helping them with the major changes that are happening today and creating a new energy world that is decentralised, green, and interconnected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop trading models in Python for trading short-term power / gas
  • Assess appropriate methods to produce the trading models, using historic data / data sources to calibrate parameters for the models
  • Co-ordinate with other teams to understand the key inputs, what data is available and how often, to create the trading models
  • Liaise with other trading team members to ensure that the final model works alongside other sections of the overall suite of trading models
  • Produce documentation of the final model illustrating the mathematical concepts used, how the model works and instructions on how to operate it

What we need from you:

  • Current studies towards any level a Maths/Stats based discipline
  • Interest in mathematical modelling and experience with Python/C++
  • Great communication skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently to set goals and objectives

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Flexible working arrangement (anything between 10 and 37 hours a week)
  • Flexible contract length to fit your studies (with a minimum commitment of 2 months), with flexible start and end date
  • £24,007 pro rata salary
  • Hybrid working model (with a minimum of 40% in our Coventry office)
  • Guidance and supervision as and when it’s needed
  • To learn about an ever evolving and developing industry
