Blackstone Recruitment are working with a provider of education, care and support services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities who are recruiting for Support Worker. Please see details below for the full job advert: Location: Bristol Salary: £11.83-£12.78ph – Linked to experience and qualifications. PLUS £1500 Welcome bonus* Hours: 40 hours per week – (working to a 2-week rota pattern which typically includes working every other weekend) Overtime is also available. The role will require driving and therefore candidate’s need to hold a full UK driving licence (2+ years) The role: As a support worker you’ll be supporting young people with all aspects of their supported living (including personal care) and supporting them in a wide range of learning, development and social activities including arts and crafts, cookery, music, gardening, swimming, shopping trips and fun social occasions. Experience: Successful candidate is likely to demonstrate the following: * Previous care experience * The ability to work to a rota pattern that includes working every other weekend * The role will require driving and therefore candidate’s need to hold a full UK driving licence (2+ years). * Exceptional communication skills, empathy and understanding. * Motivated to learn and to go the extra mile. * Ability to guide and encourage supportive independence when possible. * Good interpersonal, communication and team working skills. * An active approach to the role Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required.
