Our cutting-edge products include high-voltage (HV) reversible heat pumps and advanced electronic control systems, all designed and manufactured in-house. As a Trainee Field Service Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting these groundbreaking products, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability. In this role, you will receive comprehensive training and mentorship from seasoned professionals. You will work closely with our Birmingham Head Office Admin Team via PDA work logs and will have the flexibility to work remotely while visiting customer sites daily. Key Responsibilities: * Perform comprehensive service and maintenance on buses, coaches, and a variety of other vehicles. * Manage and maintain various systems, including air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating/ventilation/cooling systems. * Conduct daily customer visits, ensuring the delivery of high-quality service and maintenance. * Utilize a PDA system for remote operations, including work logs and team communication. * Occasionally travel to locations such as Leicester, the East of England (Norwich), and Yorkshire, with the possibility of overnight stays and night shifts as required. Health & Safety * To report any health and safety matters to your line manager, department representative or safety officer * To co-ordinate and drive health and safety, as identified in risk assessments Training * Training on Grayson products and processes will be given. Applicants will need sufficient previous training and skills to enable them to easily absorb and apply further knowledge in the field Experience/Qualifications * Experience of automotive HVAC systems with FGAS certification (but not essential), training/certification will be offered to the right candidate. * High voltage trained – an advantage (but not essential), training/certification will be offered to the right candidate * Good mechanical knowledge * Basic knowledge of vehicle electrics with ability to read and understand wiring diagrams/schematics * Have the ability to be able to work at height (training provided where necessary) * Fluency in spoken and written English * Full driving license (max 6pts) * Able to work on your own initiative as a remote field service engineer. * Flexibility to work as part of a wider team when appropriate.
