Job Title: Mechanical Biased Maintenance Engineer

Location: Great Bridge (with occasional travel to other sites)
Hours: 09:30 – 18:30 (some flexibility required); includes one weekend day every couple of weeks
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per year

Are you an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer looking to advance your career in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment? We are seeking a proactive and adaptable professional to join our maintenance team. In this role, you’ll ensure our equipment remains operational and efficient, supporting our production goals with expert maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities:

* Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Diagnose, assess, and carry out repairs to minimise downtime and keep operations running smoothly.

* Preventative Maintenance: Implement and execute the annual maintenance schedule across all production areas.

* Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for cost reduction, increased efficiency, and system enhancement.

* Project Support: Provide hands-on assistance with equipment relocation, machine upgrades, and process redesign initiatives.

* Safety & Compliance: Follow company health and safety procedures, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and maintenance records are accurately maintained.

Requirements:

* Qualifications: City & Guilds in Engineering (or equivalent qualification) or significant relevant experience.

* Apprenticeship: Completion of a time-served technical apprenticeship.

* Technical Expertise: Proficient in diagnosing faults and maintaining electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

* Mechanical Skills: Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in reactive and planned maintenance.

Skills & Competencies:

* Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently under pressure.

* Adaptability: Responsive to changing priorities in a high-paced environment.

* Communication: Strong collaboration skills, working effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve maintenance issues.
