Job Title: HGV Technician Location: Stevenage Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 The HGV Technician will be the focal point in the depot for complex technical issues and OBD diagnostics. In this role as a HGV Technician, you will be responsible for diagnostics, repairs and advice on engines, gearboxes, axles and electrical faults including body system. Benefits the HGV Technician could expect: * On the job training & development – High Voltage Level 1-4 /EV training, roadside assistance, IRTEC accreditation & diagnostics training * Free bus travel for you and a nominated member of your family * PCV Driver Training * Retail discounts and offers worth up to £1,200 per year * Full PPE and Workwear provided to the HGV Technician What you'll do as the HGV Technician: * Routine servicing, repair and maintenance of the PSV Fleet to highest DVSA standards * Be first point of contact for indepth fault finding and repairs on various bus types. * SME (Subject Matter Expert) in Mechanical and Electrical fault finding. * Be fully conversant with the overhaul and repair of vehicle electrical systems including engine management, automatic/semi-automatic gearboxes, electronic braking, suspension, electronic destinations, multiplex wiring systems and E.C.U. * Carry out projects/trials on behalf of the Engineering Director and/or Technical Manager * Maintain detailed records of all work carried out, including parts used and time taken. * Fully comply with all HS&E legislation and group policies. What you'll need to be a HGV Technician: * NVQ level 3, City & Guilds, Time Served or equivalent qualifications in HGV / PSV Maintenance * Full UK Driving licence * Previous HGV Technician experience * Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills * Fully conversant with the safe operation of workshop equipment and the overhaul and repair of vehicle electrical systems. * Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
