Premier Engineering is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering company based in Beccles. This role involves leading the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies, working closely with engineering, production, and R&D teams to deliver high-quality products.
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
- Extensive experience in mechanical design, ideally within manufacturing, special-purpose machinery, or automation
- Knowledge of materials, fabrication, and precision machining processes
- Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacture) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles
- Experience producing detailed technical drawings, GD&T, and BOMs
