Production / Manufacturing or Quality Engineer required by a highly successful manufacturer on the outskirts of Glasgow. Our client is a global leader in high-precision manufacturing for the semiconductor and geological science industries. Recent investment has been made in new production systems to support their future growth, which has resulted in a vacancy for an experienced production / quality engineer.

The successful candidate will create and modify essential engineering and production data for use in production planning, manufacturing and financial analysis. They will ensure Bill of materials (BOMs) and routing data are both accurate and sufficiently comprehensive to allow efficient planning and manufacture. Cutting-edge products combine multiple technologies and are highly customisable, so experience in creating and modifying complex BOMs and Routings is essential. As an integral part of the Engineering team, they will be involved in the modification of engineering and manufacturing data to improve quality, production efficiency and cost.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educated to at least HND level in Mechanical engineering, Production engineering, or similar, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in the creation and modification of Engineering BOM and routing data for multi-level or nested assembly products.
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing facility making complex, high-value, highly customised products would be advantageous.
  • The successful candidate must be fastidious in their work.

Key Activities:

  • Creation and modification of manufacturing data (production routing and BOM data) within their ERP system (Sage X3) for engineered products and components. This will require interrogation of Solidworks part, drawing, assembly and BOM data.
  • To improve the quality and efficiency of manufactured goods through liaison with their Engineering development and Manufacturing teams.
  • Deployment of Lean, value and quality Engineering principles to improve the flow of materials and information through their systems.
  • Proactive time management to ensure adherence to tight deadlines.
