An exciting opportunity has arisen for an on-site Event Stock Manager, working for Peppermint Events at our vibrant venue, Piece Hall. The purpose of this role is to be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the stock across the site, to ensure all bars are fully stocked and run efficiently during the shows. This role requires a proactive and organized individual to ensure efficient stock ordering with suppliers, coordination of deliveries, inventory control, and team management on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Manage the ordering process with senior stock team and suppliers to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Ensure all bars have sufficient stock dependent on each show attendance numbers and previous consumption patterns.
- Ensure menus are correct for each bar, and make amendments if product lines change.
- Coordinate Deliveries:
- Schedule and coordinate deliveries to the venue.
- Ensure accurate and timely receipt of all stock items.
- Liase with The Piece Hall on-site events team with scheduled deliveries.
- Stock Takes and Control:
- Conduct regular stock takes to monitor inventory levels.
- Implement inventory control measures to prevent losses and discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate stock records and report on inventory status.
- Accurate reports on stock wastage.
- Organise the stock across site, ensuring each bar has the correct products.
- Help to manage the budget for stock purchases, ensuring that costs remain within the allocated budget while meeting event needs.
- Organize a Delivery Team - Staff Management:
- Recruit, train, and supervise the delivery team – managing the team efficiently.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor team performance and provide feedback for improvement.
- Train staff on inventory procedures, including how to handle, store, and track stock to avoid losses or mistakes.
- On-Site Experience:
- Ensure all stock is properly managed and stored at event sites.
- Address and resolve any on-site issues related to inventory and deliveries.
- Coordinate with other departments to meet event requirements.
- Ensure all bar equipment is functioning correctly and report any issues to the correct providers.
- Forklift License (Preferred):
- A forklift license is preferred to assist with the handling and movement of stock.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in stock management in an events environment.
- Venue, festival or event stock experience is essential.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing environments.
- Great problem-solving abilities.
- A forklift license is highly preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office Suite.
Working Conditions:
- This position involves working on-site, you must be able to commute to Halifax.
- Requires flexibility to work irregular hours – mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move heavy items as needed.
