A new vacancy for a Civil Structural Engineer (BUILDING ENVELOPE) with a leading UK provider of performance testing, assessment & approval services to product developers, manufacturers & installers in the Construction industry. Reporting to the company's offices in Liverpool City Centre, the Civil Structural Engineer (BUILDING ENVELOPE) will also have the option of hybrid/homeworking 2 days per week.
The main purpose of the Civil Structural Engineer (BUILDING ENVELOPE) role is to plan, co-ordinate and carry out assessments of construction products and systems related to building envelope structures. You will be managing multiple projects where you will be expected to prepare contract offers and estimates for the assessment of various types of construction products and systems related to building envelopes. The Civil Structural Engineer (BUILDING ENVELOPE) will also be required to research and investigate aspects of construction product/system performance, work as part of a team contributing to team and individual targets and objectives, and regularly converse with clients ensuring you maintain good quality and standards at all times.
About You: The company is looking for a Civil Structural Engineer who is excited about excellence and playing a critical part in the business' focus on serving its clients better. You must be comfortable working in a structured environment, but with the ability to adapt when necessary. You should also be able to work independently, or as part of a team, and have the confidence to suggest improvements to work more efficiently.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Research and investigate aspects of construction performance.
- Assess fitness for purpose of products within contract periods and price estimates.
- Co-ordinate work and activities involved in assessments, including sub-contracting work.
- Carry out ongoing client support tasks including assessment of factory surveillance reports.
Desired Skills & Technical Expertise:
- Degree/HND in relevant Engineering or Science discipline (such as Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering).
- Experience working with FACADES, CLADDING, CURTAIN WALLING and/or ROOFING.
- Experience in Construction industry: Materials: steel, concrete, timber; Design, site, warranty company; Building control; Product testing, fire engineering.
