The Design Engineer role focuses on producing drawings and CAD models for packaged offsite-manufactured equipment.
This is a fulfilling and fast-paced role driven by serving the many and varied needs of our valued customers according to their requested timescales, but always with a strong focus on attention to detail and high quality drawing output. Other tasks would include improving and updating processes, other continuous improvement projects, other technical drawings, and other projects that enhance the product range., * General Solidworks CAD tasks & projects. Maintaining standard parts library, adding new parts to library, modelling up new parts, creating/checking standard product GA drawings.

Completing customer approval drawings for package plant room and skid module projects: pre-sale generic layout drawings, post-sale approval drawings, detailed production drawings and BoM’s, and as-built drawings as required. This would include GA and P&ID (schematic) drawings.

Reviewing structural drawings/calculations

Engineering change request management

Supplier and cross-departmental liaison

Running mini engineering projects from start to finish

Preparing drawings and CAD output for project documentation, e.g. datasheets, selection guides, exploded drawings, O&M manuals etc.

Experience in designing mechanical and electrical plant rooms.

Experience in Solidworks CAD

Meticulous attention to detail and knowledge of relevant standards and industry best practices

Sheet metal and general metal fabrication design and knowledge advantageous
