Manpower is recruiting a Medical Laboratory Assistant on behalf of our public sector client the NHS. Location: Llanishen, Cardiff Job Type: Full time Contract: 3 – 6 months Hours: Monday to Friday 8.45 am – 5.45 pm Hourly rate: £11.44 per hour rising to £12.08 per hour after 12 weeks. Start date: Immediate subject to satisfactory references and DBS check. The role The main duties include: Dispensing, labelling and dispatch of EQA / IQC / QCRM material. General office duties including the data entry of results, packing mail items, filing and scanning. All activities are performed under the direction of senior staff. Responsibilities: Laboratory tasks Labelling of EQA / IQC / QCRM samples. Assisting with dispensing of EQA / IQC / QCRM material. Check and prepare samples and documents for posting. Assisting with the packaging and dispatch of EQA / IQC / QCRM samples. Certain tasks require the use of aseptic techniques and therefore maintaining a high standard of cleanliness of apparatus and work area is required. Check and maintain stock levels of consumables. Preparation of plasticware and equipment for sterilisation. Clean glassware and equipment for EQA / IQC / QCRM production.Office tasks Carry out general office duties such as and when required. Enter results into Weqas databases. Check and package results sheets and reports for dispatch to participants.
