Position Overview:
My client is seeking an experienced and ambitious Community Care Solicitor to join their dynamic legal aid practice. The successful candidate will have a strong background in community care and public law, with a commitment to providing high-quality legal services to vulnerable individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out all allotted casework promptly and efficiently.
- Analyse legal matters and advise clients on appropriate courses of action.
- Communicate clearly and regularly with clients, adhering to client care standards.
- Handle routine correspondence, negotiations, and advocacy as required.
- Accurately record time spent on casework, ensure cases are billed, and payments are collected promptly.
- Comply with Legal Aid Agency requirements for funded work.
- Stay updated with legal developments relevant to community care and public law.
- Provide supervision where appropriate and report to supervisors when needed.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years’ experience in community care and/or Court of Protection law.
- Proven ability to handle diverse casework and communicate effectively with clients.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience working to targets.
- Excellent IT skills and knowledge of Legal Aid funding and CCMS.
- Current Practising Certificate.
- Commitment to upholding the rights of vulnerable people and ensuring access to justice.
Desirable:
- Experience in supervising team members.
- Knowledge of current policies and legal aid schemes.
