A specialist fire and security company with offices throughout the UK and Ireland. They currently have several Fire Surveyors, Fire Engineers, Fire Consultants and Director roles based in various locations in their offices.
My client is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Façade Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will be expected to run small to medium sized projects with low complexity under direct supervision from more senior team members whilst furthering your technical knowledge and capabilities in façade engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- With supervision, provides input into the programming for your own portion of the work.
- Suggest improvements to activities, processes, and projects within the façade team.
- Effectively manages and delivers multiple projects to the budgets.
- Plays an active role in maintaining and developing relationships with clients and other external collaborators.
- Pursues knowledge and experience in the delivery of holistic façade engineering services.
- May assist in guiding more junior members in technical development and provide proactive support to colleagues.
- Awareness of industry and client challenges and suggests solutions.
- The Façade Engineer will be able to undertake key aspects of façade engineering work under supervision and sometimes with minimal supervision.
- Familiar with relevant building regulations and industry standards.
- Able to carry out full project thermal and condensation checks with moderate supervision/checking only along with interstitial condensation checks.
- Understanding of the support principles of different façade constructions and associated load paths.
- Good working knowledge of materials.
- Façade design & construction principles.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a façade specific role.
- An engineering Council accredited Beng, Meng or MSc (MSc in Façade Engineering from UWE Preferred or Structural Engineering).
- AutoCAD 2D/3D Revit, Bluebeam.
