Cranleigh STEM has partnered with a novel materials start-up who are recruiting an R&D Scientist to join its development team based at their Northeast facility on a permanent basis. You will act as an integral part of the team, where you will apply expertise to material processes to directly contribute to the efficiency of their innovative technology. R&D Scientist responsibilities Apply expertise to material processes to directly contribute to the efficiency of their innovative technology. Use high friction, ball milling processes to optimise techniques. Develop and execute experiments to test formulations. Apply milling methods such as ball milling to achieve targeted compositions. Advanced material characterisation including XRD, PSD and TGA. Interpret and relay technical/experimental data Support scale-up of lab processes. R&D Scientist requirements PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar. Possess a strong background in both theoretical and practical knowledge of mechanical activation for inorganic materials. Proven ability to design and conduct scientific experiments. Hands on experience with various milling methods for material processing. Proficient in XRD, PSD, TGA for materials analysis.
