We are March……… the UKs leading provider of critical engineering services. Our expertise as a multi-disciplinary engineering partner across infrastructure, process and digital services has led to long term partnerships with leading organisations in everything from food and drink and utilities to high-security industries such as defense, aerospace and nuclear. We are currently seeking to employ a Buyer who will assist our established procurement team based out of our Burton offices Key Responsibilities Proactively negotiate, manage and build appropriate relationships with key suppliers. Identify, select and develop new suppliers to meet future business needs Obtain and benchmark supplier costs ensuring value for money Propose, implement and manage proactive cost reduction and supplier improvement plans Carry out supplier operational reviews First point of escalation for supplier issues Manage internal customer relationships, providing a flexible responsive customer service for all internal customer specific requests/needs Assist in the development and management of subcontractors to support business needs Skills and Experience Procurement experience working within the built environment (projects, M&E, facilities management) Ability to follow Procurement Processes Negotiation skills Commercial awareness Good IT skills including Word and Excel Able to communicate effectively at all levels Able to manage internal customer relationships Able to self-motivate Has well-developed problem-solving skills Specific Qualifications Clean driving license and own transport Achieved or working towards CIPS membership What we offer A competitive salary and benefits package appropriate to this position An employer who values the ongoing wellbeing of its employees Career development within a successful and growing business We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
