Job Description: EYFS Teaching Assistant Location: Burnley Start Date: ASAP Duration: Ongoing until at least Easter 2025 We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong behaviour management skills, a passion for working with young children, and a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Support the EYFS teacher in delivering a high-quality curriculum aligned with EYFS framework guidelines. Assist with planning and implementing creative and stimulating activities that promote development across all areas of learning. Provide one-on-one and small group support to children, adapting tasks to suit individual needs and abilities. Manage classroom behaviour effectively, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Observe, monitor, and assess children’s progress, contributing to their learning journeys and maintaining accurate records. Support the social and emotional development of children, helping to create a nurturing and supportive atmosphere. Ensure the safety and welfare of all children, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures at all times. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and carers to support children’s holistic development. Assist with the preparation and tidying of classroom resources, ensuring an organised and inviting learning space. Provide general administrative support to the EYFS team as required. Requirements: Proven experience working within an EYFS setting. Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development. Demonstrated skills in managing challenging behaviour effectively and professionally. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A proactive and flexible approach to supporting the needs of the school and its pupils. Relevant qualifications in childcare or education (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, NVQ in Early Years, CACHE). A valid DBS check on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one prior to starting. Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08.30am – 3.30pm, during term time.
