Department: Toolroom.

Location: Near Mansfield.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (37.5-hour week).

Salary: £21 per hour, just under £41k annually.

The job involves maintaining and repairing all tooling to its optimum condition and supporting production and all other departments across the factory.

Key results area:

  • Ensure all tooling is maintained and repaired to a high standard and released to production in first-class condition.
  • Identify areas of improvement and implement necessary changes within the P.P.M system.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out cost-effectively.
  • Undertake any activity deemed to be within the Toolmaker's ability.
  • Maintain good levels of housekeeping.
  • Pass on training to new starters and apprentices.

Requirements for the job:

  • Work Experiences/Knowledge: A good understanding of all Health & Safety systems and practices, i.e., COSHH, Abrasive Wheel, Manual Handling, etc. An understanding of plastic injection mould process, tooling, and valve gate hot runner systems. Knowledge of all Toolroom machinery and its capabilities, both conventional and CNC. Ability to spark erode. Computer literate. Good understanding of the Toolroom's role within the company.
  • Personal Qualities/Competencies: Flexibility and reliability are pre-requisites for this role. A positive 'can do' attitude. Ability to 'think out of the box' and propose new ideas where applicable. Ability to work to verbal and written instructions. Ability to work individually or within a team.
