We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior RF Design Engineer to join a leading engineering company specialising in RF technology for defence, aviation, and secure communications. This role offers a salary of £60,000 - £65,000 and involves working across the full product lifecycle in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- RF system architecture, simulation, and circuit design.
- PCB layout, schematic capture (Altium), and RF component selection.
- Design of RF amplifiers (up to 200W), filters, transmitters, and receivers.
- Hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Leading design reviews and mentoring junior engineers.
Required Experience & Skills:
- 5+ years in RF design, ideally within defence or aerospace.
- Proficiency in RF simulation tools, PCB design software, and test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, network analysers).
- Expertise in RF power amplifiers (GaN, LDMOS), antenna design, and EMC considerations.
- Strong analogue and digital electronics knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years in RF engineering.
- Familiarity with MIL-STD and DO-160 compliance.
- Experience with Altium Designer, Cadence AWR Microwave Office, and AnsysHFSS.
