Key Responsibilities as an SEN Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons tailored to meet individual student needs.
- Teach small class sizes, typically up to 10 students, with three dedicated support staff.
- Adapt teaching methods to support students with autism, dyslexia, anxiety, and SEMH challenges.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants and Higher-Level Teaching Assistants, offering guidance and mentorship.
- Monitor student progress, focusing on both academic and emotional development.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including an onsite clinical team and experienced leadership.
- Ensure all lessons adhere to safeguarding practices and promote equality.
SEN Teacher Skills & Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS ECTs are welcome to apply!
- Experience working with SEN learners and managing EHCPs.
- Strong knowledge of SEN teaching strategies and classroom adaptations.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage students with diverse needs.
- A creative, adaptable approach to lesson planning and delivery.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (due to the rural location of some schools in Suffolk).
