On behalf of our client based in Kilmarnock, we are seeking an experienced Estimator. The successful candidate will become part of a local business offering nationwide services, specialising in the design, manufacture, supply, and installation of secondary steelwork and architectural metalwork solutions for the construction industry. Their expertise includes delivering turnkey services, with a focus on feature staircases, balustrades, and handrails in various materials and finishes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed and precise estimates for custom architectural metalwork projects, secondary steelwork, and miscellaneous metalwork.
- Analyse drawings and specifications to generate comprehensive take-offs.
- Communicate effectively with design teams, project managers, and clients.
- Produce estimates independently, without requiring direct management or supervision.
- Prepare cost analyses and variance reports to monitor project budgets and performance.
- Ensure estimates comply with project specifications and are submitted on time.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in estimating for metalwork and fabrication projects.
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes, from the factory floor to site installation.
- Extensive experience in various construction projects.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with internal teams.
