On behalf of our client based in Kilmarnock, we are recruiting for a Trainee Estimator. The successful candidate will become part of a local business offering nationwide services, specialising in the design, manufacture, supply, and installation of secondary steelwork and architectural metalwork solutions for the construction industry. Their expertise includes delivering turnkey services, with a focus on feature staircases, balustrades, and handrails in various materials and finishes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in providing detailed and precise estimates for custom architectural metalwork projects, secondary steelwork, and miscellaneous metalwork.
- Communicate effectively with design teams, project managers, and clients.
- Assisting with the preparation of cost analyses and variance reports to monitor project budgets and performance.
- Ensure estimates comply with project specifications and are submitted on time.
Requirements:
- An engineering background is crucial with experience as a fabricator/welder.
- Knowledge of site installations.
- Proficient in IT, especially with Microsoft applications such as Excel.
- A valid driving license.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
