Salter Grange is currently recruiting a Building Services Manager for an exciting opportunity to join a leading principal contractor at a large £50M distribution centre project in the Midlands. This role offers the chance to work on a significant project and advance professionally. As a pivotal figure in our team, the Building Services Manager will bring their extensive senior experience to bear on this project. With over 5 years of experience in large, fast-track construction projects, the ideal candidate will take on the crucial role of overseeing the M&E design and delivery teams, ensuring that project specifications and requirements are met. You’ll have strategic input on the planning and delivering all aspects of the MEP packages onsite and will seek to drive continuous improvement in all processes. Building Services Manager Responsibilities: Project management of M&E design teams, ensuring specific requirements and expectations are met. Strategic planning and effective look ahead to ensure seamless integration of M&E systems within the scheme in line with the handover sequence. Advise the site management teams on all M&E processes, product and system selection, and mitigate risk onsite. Ability to provide hands-on guidance and support to the building services function as the project dictates. Continuous management of the installation quality for M&E systems on projects, from initial coordination to final commissioning and handover. Oversight of M&E sub-contractors onsite, ensuring programme, quality performance, and expectations are met. Supplement the company’s innovation and value engineering processes in consideration and implementation of best-in-class mechanical / electrical systems and products. Management and standardisation of the Temporary Electric/water systems designs to ensure efficiencies are gained. Building Services Manager Requirements: Third level qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role. Strong relationship builder with effective collaboration skills. Strong track record in identifying and managing risk. Strong problem-solving ability with excellent attention to detail.
