Looking for a Maintenance engineer for a 5* hotel.

40 hours per week (predominantly Mon-Fri with occasional evenings and weekends).

Salary up to £32,000.

Looking for a good all-rounder with general maintenance skills in plumbing, painting, and carpentry (hotel background preferred).

YOUR CORE PURPOSE WILL BE:

  • Assist the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor to carry out planned preventive and reactive maintenance tasks correctly and efficiently ensuring a safe, clean and working environment for guests, visitors and the team.
  • Carry out short term (reactive) maintenance and repairs affecting guest bedrooms and services as a matter of urgency but adhering to all safety procedures and causing minimum disruption to guests.
  • Respect guests' privacy at all times.
  • Deal with complaints/problems politely and positively and make every effort to resolve them, enlisting the support of the Duty Manager/Line Manager.
  • Liaise daily with all departments and deal appropriately with any maintenance issues raised, giving priority to those issues that compromise Health & Safety and security.
  • Be aware of and operate the hotel security and emergency procedures.
  • Use, operate and store all tools, equipment and materials safely and securely to comply with statutory regulations e.g. COSHH.
  • In the absence of the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor, liaise with contractors on site to ensure that works are completed in compliance with company Health & Safety procedures.
  • Develop good working relationships with regular external contractors.
  • Assist in monitoring energy supply/costs.
  • Assist with checks of maintenance materials, keeping stock levels to the minimum necessary to maintain continuity of service.
  • Bring to the attention of the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor any faults, defects or peculiarities, which may be observed during the course of your work.
  • To update and maintain P.P.M and monitor the work performed on the Preventative Maintenance System and issue monthly maintenance tasks.
  • To ensure that the workshop, plant rooms and all other engineering areas are always clean and in safe condition.
  • Carry out any ad hoc job or task related to the role as specified by senior management.
