Southwark Leisure Services operates across several sites, seven days a week from early morning to late night and weekends. There is a requirement for the post holder on occasions, to work outside normal office hours and at different venues to meet the needs of the service.

Job Type: Permanent, Part-Time 22 hours - weekends. Weekend and evening work will be required to meet service needs.

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Duty Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of Burgess Sport Centre. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising staff and ensuring the smooth operation of the centre.
  • Maintaining high standards of customer service and health & safety.
  • Managing bookings, events, and daily operational tasks.
  • Handling customer inquiries and resolving any issues efficiently.
  • Supporting staff development and training.
  • Ensuring cleanliness, maintenance, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

About You:

  • Previous experience in a leisure or sports facility management role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations within a leisure environment.
  • First Aid and Pool Plant Operator qualifications (desirable).
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
