We are seeking a proactive and experienced Duty Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of Burgess Sport Centre. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising staff and ensuring the smooth operation of the centre.
- Maintaining high standards of customer service and health & safety.
- Managing bookings, events, and daily operational tasks.
- Handling customer inquiries and resolving any issues efficiently.
- Supporting staff development and training.
- Ensuring cleanliness, maintenance, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
About You:
- Previous experience in a leisure or sports facility management role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations within a leisure environment.
- First Aid and Pool Plant Operator qualifications (desirable).
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.

Additional Information:
Southwark Leisure Services operates across several sites, seven days a week from early morning to late night and weekends. There is a requirement for the post holder on occasions, to work outside normal office hours and at different venues to meet the needs of the service.
Job Type: Permanent, Part-Time. Some weekend and evening work will be required to meet service needs.
