We are seeking an experienced Analytical Chemist to support process development and scale-up of small molecule drug substances (APIs). This role focuses on developing robust analytical methodologies for early and late-phase drug development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, validate, and transfer analytical methods to support synthetic route optimisation and process development.
- Conduct analytical testing to characterise APIs, intermediates, and raw materials in GMP and non-GMP environments.
- Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation in a GMP setting.
- Generate and interpret high-quality analytical data to support decision-making.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to meet project deadlines.
- For senior roles: Lead analytical development for complex projects, provide expert guidance, manage OOS investigations, oversee regulatory compliance, and coordinate global analytical efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree (Bachelor’s or higher) in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- Hands-on expertise in LC/GC and experience with NMR, MS, IR, or XRD.
- Proven track record in analytical method development and validation for API characterisation.
- Ability to troubleshoot analytical challenges and support regulatory submissions.
- For senior roles: Experience in analytical project leadership, regulatory compliance, impurity profiling, and trace-level analysis.
- Understanding of GMP quality standards.
- Experience managing analytical work with third-party laboratories.
- Knowledge of analytical data systems such as Empower.
