Senior Analytics Engineer - Python, GCP, DBT sought by leading telecommunications company based in the city of London. Inside IR35 - 2/3 days a week onsite.
What you'll need:
- Strong hands-on experience with source code control tools such as Git
- Experience building and orchestrating pipelines in dbt
- Experience with GCP
- Experience with Terraform
- Experience with version control for data models (e.g., dbt testing frameworks, data documentation)
- Demonstrated experience with data modelling concepts (dimensional modelling, star schemas)
- Experience writing efficient and optimised SQL for large-scale data transformations
- Understanding of data warehouse design principles and best practices
- Proactive approach to identifying and resolving data quality issues
- Strong communication skills with both technical and business customers
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data transformations
- Experience with data quality and testing tools (Great Expectations, dbt tests)
What will help you on the job:
- Experience working within an agile team and familiarity with JIRA
- Degree in a Data Science or Computer Science related discipline
- Experience with end user data and visualisation tools such as Tableau
- Experience working with APIs
- Experience working with large-scale spatial datasets (billions of rows) and performing geospatial at scale using BigQuery GIS or similar tools
- Experience with advanced analytical modelling techniques, including statistical analysis and predictive modelling, particularly applying these to large-scale datasets to derive actionable insights
- Knowledge of data governance and metadata management
- Experience with data cataloguing tools
- Experience mentoring junior team members
- Familiarity with modern data stack tools (Airbyte, Fivetran, etc.)
