Fancy setting sail through the heart of the city on the London Eye River Cruise? We’ve got our Eye out for a Pier Controller to join our dedicated team in delivering the most moving experience in London. The London Eye Pier is one of the busiest on the Thames and so you’ll be able to stay calm under pressure, always professional and have high health and safety standards.
You’ll ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Pier, maintaining the highest level of quality standards, efficiency, and boat management, whilst adhering to health and safety standards. Following all Marine safety regulations and London Eye procedures, you will also ensure the compliance of all boat operators and respond with appropriate actions in emergency situations.
You’ll carry out efficient management of the guests and boats stopping at the Pier, being a dock master and ensuring that all boat movements are recorded accurately on the record log and submitting discrepancy reports. This role will be based outside, so you’ll need to be prepared to work in all weather conditions as the Pier is open all year round. This role is permanent, based upon working 5 days out of 7 on a roster basis, offering a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. The London Eye is open daily and so shifts will include regular weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience working on Britain’s waterways (desirable)
- To be 18 years of age or older
- A solid understanding of health and safety, and a passion for customer excellence
- To be a guest focused individual that thrives off being within a buzzing atmosphere
- Excellent communication skills
