To support our growing business, Magdalene is looking for a NOC Support Engineer based at our office in Belfast. Your role will be to support the delivery of NOC operations and technical support across various projects and technologies. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Belfast NOC (Network Operations) providing technical support, monitoring, and reporting to engineers, customers, and managers. A list of the key duties that you will support, assist with, and develop on is below, and full training will be provided.

Technical
  • Monitoring of various telecoms management systems and reacting to alarms/events within SLA.
  • Perform detailed troubleshooting and diagnostics of Cisco data devices and networks, microwave radios, and various ethernet/IP based solutions.
  • Performing pre-compiled technical routines to diagnose and rectify faults remotely, calling on field resources when needed.
  • Provide remote technical control and guidance to field engineers to resolve faults.
  • Apply remote configurations to network devices as required for both reactive and proactive procedures.
  • Performing pre-agreed maintenance routines and adapting them as required.
  • Completion of remote work order configurations for adds/moves/changes on all networks and technologies.
  • Liaise with customers to provide technical management in completion of work orders.
  • Assist the Service Manager with network reporting, analysis, and trending data.
Records and Reporting
  • Completion of daily system checks and updating of check records.
  • Create/control the technical elements of change requests and runbooks for service and project changes.
  • Compile statistical reports from the management systems on multiple network technologies.
  • Management and updating of customer record sets, diagrams, and databases.
  • Work closely with Service Desk and NOC to ensure accurate ticket management and updates.
General
  • Carry out all work in accordance with the company quality procedures.
  • Work safely at all times in accordance with the company’s Health and Safety Arrangements.
Key Skills
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft products & working with CLI commands.
  • A clear understanding of Telecoms systems and communication technologies.
  • Effective communication including written and organisational skills.
  • Confidence to deal with customers face to face, or remotely on calls/video calls.
