The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa is located in the heart of Edinburgh's financial district and cultural quarter and is one of Scotland's leading 5 star hotels. As the largest 5 star hotel in the city with 269 bedrooms, we also have the biggest banqueting and meeting facilities with a capacity of up to 500, One Square Restaurant and the award-winning One Spa, Scotland's leading city centre spa.
We are currently recruiting for a Resort Sales (Reservations) Executive. Our Resort Sales Team is often the first contact guests have with our hotel, One Square restaurant and One Spa. Therefore, our associates' communications with guests are a critical part of the overall guest experience. Our Resort Sales Executives are responsible for selling our products to achieve revenue targets and also play a key role in creating memorable interactions that bring the Sheraton brand to life for our guests. The contractual hours for this role are 40 per week over a 5 day roster including a Saturday on a rotational basis shared across the team.
We are looking for someone who is energetic and self-motivated and who is ready to take the next step on your career path. Ideally, you will have at least 2 years' experience within a customer-facing department preferably within a 5 star environment, although other relevant experience will be considered. Our expectations of you will be that you are able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team and have a strong desire to improve on your skills and knowledge as well as:
- Must have a passion for selling the hotel, One Square and One Spa and be driven to achieve individual and team targets.
- Great Customer Service Skills - Must enjoy guest interaction (phone, email and social media), be able to anticipate guest needs and maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of product and service knowledge in order to explain and sell services and facilities to guests.
- Must be a Team Player - Demonstrate experience of building positive working relationships and promoting team spirit.
- Essential Computer Skills - Knowledge of Empower Reservations, Opera PMS, Book4Time and Live Bookings is preferred, Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.
- Excellent command of English language (verbal and written).
