About the Role:

We are seeking enthusiastic and adaptable EYFS Teaching Assistants to join our pool of supply staff, supporting Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) pupils across a variety of primary schools in Goole. This is a flexible position ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic settings and are passionate about nurturing young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to EYFS pupils, ensuring a nurturing and stimulating environment conducive to learning.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities aligned with the EYFS framework.
  • Support the development of children's literacy, numeracy, social, and motor skills through play-based and structured learning activities.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and independence in line with school policies and the EYFS ethos.
  • Work with small groups or individual pupils, adapting support to their individual needs.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, tidying, and maintenance of resources.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on pupils' progress and engagement.
  • Ensure the health and safety of children at all times.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in an EYFS setting is essential.
  • A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development milestones.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school staff.
  • Adaptability and the confidence to work in new environments.
  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Flexibility to work in various schools on a supply basis.
