Senior Design Manager

Danny Sullivan Group are currently looking for a Senior Design Manager for a role with a Tier 1 contractor working on a wastewater treatment plant in South West London.

Ideal candidate would have good civils/utilities/water experience and come from a Tier 1 background. Strong civil engineering knowledge and ability to work effectively with the site and design teams on this complex wastewater treatment project.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design Management: Lead the design process for wastewater treatment plant projects, ensuring all designs are innovative, cost-effective, and compliant with industry standards.
2. Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and contractors, to ensure seamless integration of design elements.
3. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control procedures to ensure all designs meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.
4. Client Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring design solutions align with their expectations.
5. Budget Management: Monitor design budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented.
6. Risk Management: Identify potential design risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
7. Sustainability: Incorporate sustainable design practices to minimize environmental impact and enhance the efficiency of wastewater treatment systems.
8. Reporting: Prepare and present regular design progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting key achievements and addressing any issues.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor\’s or Master\’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in design management, with a focus on wastewater treatment projects.
3. Strong background on water framework projects.
4. Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
5. Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex design projects.
6. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
