Job Title : Deputy Estates Manager Hours : 35 hours per week (to be worked flexibly) Salary : £31,000 – £34,000 per annum dependent on experience Location : Stroud & requirement to travel to Gloucester, Bristol, Swindon, Somerset & South Wales Holidays : 25 days per annum plus statutory Pension : Auto enrolment pension (6% employer contribution) Due to expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen within The Nelson Trust for a Deputy Estates Manager to support the facilities function within the Trust. The Nelson Trust operates on a multi-site basis, across Bristol, Gloucestershire, Avon & Somerset, and into Wales. As Deputy Estates Manager, you will assist in overseeing the Trust’s property portfolio. You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of the facilities and estates within the Trust. Specific responsibilities include supporting the management of the maintenance team, assisting with planned maintenance, ensuring works schedules are up to date, and that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Furthermore, you will aid in ensuring the business meets its contractual, legal, and quality requirements for Health and Safety and building regulations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a comparable role within a similar setting and should possess excellent knowledge of building functions, good project management skills, and excellent communication skills. You should be able to work with a range of stakeholders and possess strong organisational skills. Flexibility and adaptability according to the situation are essential. It is preferable that you have an IOSH Managing Safely certification (or willingness to work towards) and a positive, “can do” attitude. This role requires a hands-on and visible approach and is based across all the operational environments of the Trust. The Deputy Estates Manager will also play a proactive role in finding environmentally friendly solutions to energy production and construction.
