The Senior Commercial Manager will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and market success for our brands. With a focus on innovation and customer-centric strategies, the incumbent will lead the development and execution of commercial plans, fostering strong relationships both internally and with customers. This role demands an entrepreneurial attitude, innovative thinking, and a commitment to delivering results.
Responsibilities:
- Drive revenue and profit growth through effective execution of Brand strategy.
- Foster relationships with customers and internal stakeholders at all levels.
- Understand customer business strategies and growth drivers and develop winning Joint Business plans aligned to customer strategic imperatives.
- Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trends, consumer behaviour, and emerging opportunities.
- Provide insights to inform strategic decision-making.
- Ensure innovation plans are landed successfully.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align commercial strategies with brand marketing efforts, ensuring a cohesive and impactful market presence.
- Support the management team in defining budgets, targets, and growth-driven strategies.
- Identify and execute business opportunities to increase brand visibility and presence.
- Negotiate cost price changes, range, distribution, shelf positioning, promotional activities etc. to build the brand within the customer portfolio.
- Formulating customer specific plans/strategies in line with accountable budgets, costing, packaging and retail prices.
- Management of Own Label contracts as appropriate, including securing new business, maintaining current business and managing the P&L in a commodity driven environment.
- Create and maintain demand forecast at volume, value and profit level along with the demand planning team.
- Collaborating with supply chain team to build effective customer service and fulfilment to each retailer.
- To understand the pulse of the market and industry.
- Monitor competitor activity and adjust forward plans to ensure brand growth.
- Any other reasonable duties, responsibility or requests that may be issued by management from time to time.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Previous experience managing major retailers/multiples within the FMCG at a senior level.
- Experience of growing branded business in a high pace environment.
- Proven track record of working to KPI’s and achieving targets.
- Proficient in commercial analysis and data interpretation to inform strategic decision-making.
- Adept at cultivating and managing relationships across all levels of the organisation and with external customers.
- Proven expertise in influencing and negotiation, capable of driving successful outcomes in diverse business scenarios.
- Pro-active starter and finisher.
- Hours to do the role, which will vary according to business priorities.
- Be willing and able to undertake regular national travel as required to manage the customer relationship.
- Must be enthusiastic, resilient, tenacious, and persuasive with excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
