We have an opportunity to join our IT team as Head of IT Governance and Security on a permanent basis reporting into the IT Director. As a member of the IT Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for the overall management of the cross-functions in IT covering IT Security, Risk, Compliance, Contracts, and Financial Management. You will establish suitable models that support the overall performance of the Group IT department and align with other Group functions in VWGUK and the regional steering team across Europe.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will manage a team of experts across the disciplines for your function. You will cover strategic topics for VWGUK and regional topics, assuring operational performance of your team, which involves steering and senior stakeholder management for security alerts and incidents.
What you could be doing:
- Defining and implementing governance controls and ensuring they are fit for purpose to manage risk to an acceptable level.
- Facilitating all IT audit requirements and monitoring the completion of relevant audit findings to comply with Group requirements.
- Standardising the governance of IT delivery, change, and technical delivery by defining and implementing a governance framework, tools, and processes deployed within the IT Operating Model, to ensure they are fit for purpose.
- Being the principal lead for security alerts which risk VWGUK operations.

- Strong knowledge of leadership, management, and governance across IT domains.
- Excellent commercial experience, with the ability to think strategically and influence across all levels of the organisation.
- Advanced skills in financial management, budgeting, procurement, and contract negotiations, demonstrating a high degree of motivation with excellent time management skills.
